Kahukura had the privilage of taking part in the Maori Expo which was held at Te Wananga o Aotearoa Campus in Gisborne on the 6th of August 2008.
It was an awesome day with inspirational speakers and a wonderful experience, we loved the whanaungatanga and the exceptional performance of Te Hokowhitu atu from Tokomaru Bay. It brought tears to my eyes when I heard the familiar waiata .. it took me back to when we lived up the coast. Well done to the organisers and the whanau of The Maori Business Network. Kahukura at The Launch of the Maori Tourism Venture

Kahukura Gallery had the privilege of being invited to The Launch of The Tairawhiti Maori Tourism Venture.
We were welcomed on to The Pahau Marae by the Tangata Whenua and the outstanding Kapa Haka group who had recently returned from supporting Our Prime Minister Helen Clarke overseas. It was a wonderful day with The Hon Nanaia Mahuta, Minister of Tourism, Opening the Venture. after the Launch, The Minister and her group visited Kahukura along with the Maori Tourism Representative; Niko Tangaroa from Whanganui and our Locals from Te Unga Mai.
A Fantastic day with lots of memorable experiences!
